21 - Settlement on house 


January - 2013
8 - Application submitted to abolish gas supply to house
9 - Application submitted to abolish electricity supply to house
9 - Council approval to remove large tree
18 - Asset Protection Approved
18 & 21 - Tender with PD
22 - Gas and Electricity both now abolished from house
22 - Posted off to United Energy to get new Underground PIT quote
29 - Tile Appointment
29 - Demolition request submitted to Council
31 - Quote for Pit Installation received, I then sent off payment and acceptance of quote

February - 2013
4 - Colours & Electricals
5 - On-site meeting with Compass Pools
8 - Porter Davis Contract 
11 - Underground PIT payment received - PIT installed now within 20 days
19 - Demolition has begun - Asbestos removed, floor boards gone, roof tiles gone
20 - Demolition fencing up 
25 - Greenery removed off sheds
27 - Last Asbestos removed, house flattened
28 - House demolished, Tree lopped, Block flattened out.

March - 2013
8 - On-site Meeting with Compass Pools
11 - Pool Dig began
15 - Pool Shell placed in the ground
22 - Received Construction Drawings from PD
26 - Finalised and Signed Final Construction Drawings
28 - Pool Installation began


April - 2013
10 - Pool - part 1 of installation completed - put "to sleep" until build finished.
22 - SITE START - site scraped
25 - Screw Piers screwed into the ground - around 40 of them
29 - Meter Box set up and connected to Power Pit
30 - Underground Plumbing installed


May - 2013
3/4 - Formwork set up ready for concrete
6 - Slab poured (1 day early!)
9 - Timber delivered
10 - Carpenter started
21 - Frame Stage Complete - although there is still framing things to occur - upper windows still to install and roof trusses on garage and alfresco
24 - Guttering and Fascia installed
28 - Roofing installed
31 - Ground level wrapped with insulation

Oct - 2013
11 - Handover Day (just shy of 27 weeks build time)

    Great work, for someone considering building a new home, its invaluable guide.
    Just wondering how you have found the evaporative cooling as I have read a number of conflicting bogs when it comes to cooling double stories.
